I genuinely want to cry when I see teenagers who are so immersed in radfem/TERF ideology. It’s so toxic for them. Being that hateful all the time isn’t healthy for anyone, and all they’re doing is dividing the LGBTQ+ community more. But I get it; I get why it happens… teenagers are kids, and kids are incredibly impressionable. Kids make bad decisions all the time, which is just part of growing up unforunately.
I just… I hope they get out of it. I really do. Because this is only causing harm to everyone involved, but especially to trans people. And while trans people built this community, they don’t get that. And it’s sad. It’s so sad that they ignore and deny the history of their own community. It’s so sad that they’re stuck in this toxic rhetoric. And it’s so sad that they don’t know or care to know any better.
Kids shouldn’t be involved with stuff like this. They really shouldn’t. But… I guess they’ll just have to learn from their mistakes. I sincerely hope they do 😓
Concept: Gender reveal parties for non binary/agender/fluid/secretive people where instead of the honoree revealing their gender, the guests all bring a gender suggestion. Like “cowboy”, “abandoned Blockbuster” or “Victorian child ghost” and then the person picks a winner.
A gender potluck, if you will.
Fact: You don’t have to choose a side. Orientation is not a binary between gay and straight, and even if you end up in a monogamous, long-term relationship, you continue to exist outside of that binary because who you are is not the same thing as who you are with.
